Marc Jacobs wants your dog to vote for Obama

Anna Wintour has persuaded Marc Jacobs and Thakoon to create dog accessories in support of President Obama’s re-election campaign.

As Sarah Jessica Parker finishes polishing up the silver in preparation for the Obama fundraiser she will hold in her Manhattan home tonight, her co-host Anna Wintour has been ploughing on with promoting all the fashion-related, money-making ventures she has had a hand in creating in aid of the President’s re-election campaign.

Last night, the US
Vogue
editor-in-chief took the
Runway To Win
initiative to Chicago and made us aware of her latest Obama merchandise brainwave – dog attire.

Yes, that’s right. Marc Jacobs and Thakoon – two of the RTW collective’s best-known members – have created exclusive pet items that are available for purchase through Obama’s
online store
. Jacobs’ ‘I bark for Obama’ adorned doggy tee is undeniably cute, while Thakoon’s floral print lead and collar set is a little more understated.

The Obama’s family dog Bo is also getting in on the action with her very own ‘I bark for Barack’ car magnet and T-shirt, and cats can have their say too with an ‘I meow for Michelle’ collars.

We can’t help but imagine a ‘Cock my leg for Cameron’ dog tee come the next general election…
