“There is nothing like scoring a goal in a soccer game. Especially a big goal, in a big game at a crucial time. It’s one of those feelings that players crave,” Bumpy Pitch tells us. We can sort of relate. One of us was kicked in the face by his own team’s goalie during a scrimmage, but even that traumatic event didn’t ruin the frenzied allure of soccer. Scores come so often in the most popular American sports. Soccer is different. Goals are sparse treasures that can be analyzed and enjoyed for freaking generations.
